Dedicated to furthering the experience and tradition of wind repertoire, Chicago Symphonic Winds is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization founded to fill the need for quality performances of wind repertoire in the Chicagoland area. CSW is actively involved in performances and educational outreach, as well as establishing relevant partnerships with local businesses and community programs.

Celebrating the rich history of the wind band, CSW focuses on diverse repertoire and a flexible instrumentation to give performances ranging in size from the smaller octets and nonets of European harmoniemusik, to full sized wind ensembles in the likeness of the American military band.

Chicago Symphonic Winds creates partnerships and fosters new relationships through performances in a number of diverse settings across the city. Most notably, CSW has worked with Ravinia Festival's "Circle Rockets" as clinicians for the Sistema-style program at Catalyst Circle Rock Charter School, an has been recognized as a premiere ensemble for  USBands' regional Concert Series' hosted in Chicago's Orchestra Hall. CSW has continually joined the Chicago Park District as part of the Night out in the Parks series to advance the goals of the Chicago Cultural Plan bringing arts programming through Chicago neighborhoods.

Committed to using musical experience to improve the community, CSW has collaborated with local businesses including Vanille Patisserie for a monthly music series at its Lincoln Park bakery, Green Scene Chicago, performing at the Winthrop Harmony Arts Garden as part of Project TapRoot, which taught children and teens in the community about sustainable living and the joy of music and arts, Merula Swedish Choir, in a collaboration concert dedicated to showcasing the unique beauties of vocal and wind music, and the International Museum of Surgical Science, for a special concert and lecture on music and medicine with music therapist Alyssa Wilkins.

As advocates for music education, Chicago Symphonic Winds regularly works with young musicians across Chicago and the Midwest through clinic and masterclasses.
